I tried the Bourbon Dynasty a few nights ago:
- 2 oz. Bourbon (I used Elmer T. Lee)
- 1 tsp. Créme de Cassis
- 1 oz. White Lillet (oops, not pictured)
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
- Lemon twist
While it was a lovely drink and well balanced, I don’t think it’s something I’d drink too often. I think this is because I simply like bourbon and don’t tend to mix it into cocktails with more than a couple of ingredients (e.g., a Manhattan). This cocktail seems quite friendly, so if you’re looking to “break into” bourbon, this could be a nice starter. The sweetness of the Créme de Cassis and Lillet take the edge off of the bourbon (but hey, I like that edge!).
